Blogging just doesn’t suit me. You sit around and write long posts with no real purpose, trying to make money. Well I’m fed up with it. You can’t make money blogging. The big guys have already taken the market share. Nobody’s interested in what I have to say.

Making 10k per week is a sham. Bilge! Who makes that kind of money? John Cow, er, John CHOW doesn’t even make that kind of money! You can’t ever make 10k blogging. In fact, unless you’re born with some kind of special mutant super-power — or a huge inheritance — you can’t make 10k in a week. It’s just not possible.

  1. Search engines. Blog search engines like to hear your ping on a routine basis. Once a week is not enough, and too many per day is just spam. A daily blog hits the sweet spot for the ping services and search engines, and keeps the bots crawling back for more.

  2. Friendliness. People who come to your blog do not come to read an old article. They want to see what’s new with you. Making a new post that day (even if it was pre-scheduled) is the equivalent of saying “hello, how are you doing today?” Once their mammal-mind encounters that feeling, they will want to check back the next day to see if you really meant it.

Sometimes we all feel a little depressed. Unless you’re that 1% of the population that’s never depressed, chances are you’ve had it happen to you. A bad case of the Blahs.

And feeling down can seriously interfere with achieving our goals. We know of course that we should be doing something, but we just don’t feel like doing anything. If you don’t do something to nip it in the bud, this can get way out of control — and rip you out of your groove for success. Here are some winning techniques:

I have been a long-time fan of Opera. It is a great alternative to bulkier browsers like Firefox and IE, and happens to be the first browser to have discovered tabbed browsing.

However, I’ve noticed that it is getting bigger, and is closed source besides — so I can’t just hack in and fix whatever problem arises. Last version had a fatal flaw where the Wordpress rich text editor was concerned, so I had to upgrade to the 9.50 beta. Lately I have noticed it tending to hang for a few seconds on certain sites when I have plugins enabled. In any case, the lack of extensibility bothers me a little so I wanted to try something fresh.

Something I’ve been thinking lately is that there are five major resources that factor heavily into success. I call them resources because they exist in limited supply for everyone, and can be accumulated (in most cases) by taking the right steps. And when all five are in good supply, you will be successful.

  1. Health. Also known as vitality. Converts to energy.
  2. Energy. Also known as fitness. Converts to efficiency.
  3. Efficiency. Also known as productivity. Converts to wealth.
  4. Wealth. Also known as financial security. Converts to enjoyment.
  5. Enjoyment. Also known as relaxation. Converts to health.

I’ve been working hard lately…

It’s not that I am un-lazy. I am extremely lazy. I really hate doing unnecessary work. I am just very willing to do necessary work. The way I look at it, getting out of unnecessary work later requires that I perform necessary work today, so I’d better get cracking.

What most people term laziness is in fact a cognative defect that might be termed “stupidity”. I am guilty, as I’m sure we all are. The brain just doesn’t always see how working harder now will save you more work (and stress) down the road.
