I don’t know exactly what form 10K Luke.info will take in a year or two. Right now I am just writing things that seem interesting or relavent. Lately I have been thinking a lot about what it takes to start a blog-style website and make it succeed.
Search Engine Optimization is a big deal, apparently. It’s not everything, but quality content that is optimized for ease of searchability is going to float to the top of the search engine rankings faster than content that is not.
Regular content updates. Making sure that you post new content at least twice per week. Now, there’s nothing that says this has to be all completely original writing. Often a shorter article referencing another news source is worthwhile to readers. But I like to write, so a lot of my blog content will be original.
A theme that resonates with the readership and the author. Here at 10kLuke.info I’m still working on this. I am interested in lots of things, including making money online, nanotechnology, vermicomposting, and webcomics. I can either choose to narrow the focus, split into multiple sites, or harmonize all of them.
I think of myself as very a lazy person when it comes down to it. I try to get out of work if possible. But lately I have decided to work as hard as I need to.
If I don’t get a website earning tons of cash, I will have to get a job soon. So I am quite motivated to work hard on anything that will get me out of that obligation. For the next 30 days, I commit to hard work on this site and any other money making enterprises I can find to work on!
