Today marks the 31st day of daily posting on this blog. I have decided to give myself a break, as a psychological reward and to prevent burn-out. For the next 7 days I will not be publishing any new posts on this blog. From the 6th through 12th of April, 2008, there will be a blank spot in the calender. Then it’s back to the daily grind!

Search engines. Blog search engines like to hear your ping on a routine basis. Once a week is not enough, and too many per day is just spam. A daily blog hits the sweet spot for the ping services and search engines, and keeps the bots crawling back for more.
Friendliness. People who come to your blog do not come to read an old article. They want to see what’s new with you. Making a new post that day (even if it was pre-scheduled) is the equivalent of saying “hello, how are you doing today?” Once their mammal-mind encounters that feeling, they will want to check back the next day to see if you really meant it.

There are three good ways to title (and theme) a post.
Comparisons of wildly different things. Example: What Bloggers Can Learn From Donald Trump.
Numbered lists of simple points. Example: 10 Reasons Never to Get a Job.
Anything “How To”. Example: How To Become an Early Riser.
These always sound authoritative. Even if you’re not really an expert on the subject, you’ll sound like one. Further, in writing the post you will actually be more inclined to think like an expert.
Sharp, concise, well-supported thoughts with lots of original input. That’s what readers want, and that is what will boost your blog’s popularity the most.

I was looking through some Digg posts and noticed this from OIBO. It’s an interesting, simple idea, for a blogger like me who posts daily: Recycle your old posts by rewriting them better and in different words.
It’s less work than staring at a blank page and writing a completely new article from scratch. The ideas are already in written form — they just need put into different words, hopefully better words. And it’s not really the same as copying and pasting; entire new content actually ends up being created.

It has been over a week since I started posting once-daily on this blog. It is a great feeling to know I am succeeding at this. I just thought I’d write this (a day in advance ) to celebrate. I definitely have more ideas in store for articles that I would like to write. I just need to get enough time together and FOCUS.

I’ve been educating myself (slowly but surely) on how to get more traffic on my blog — or any site for that matter. One of the most important things of course is to get Google to turn my pages up first on a search. The key factor in this is Page Rank.
I figured out how to give away page rank to valued readers who post comments. However, there are hazzards to giving away links indiscriminately. Whenever you link from one page to another, you automatically reduce the value of the one and increase the value of the other, to some degree.
